What Crime
What Crime is a conceptual piece that explores the architectural essay Ornament and Crime by Adolf Loos, who argued that ornamentation was criminal because it was not economically viable. It became an important document in the modernist movement.
Turning the pages of this book, the reader watches a collage of Louis Sullivan drawings become painted over, effectively removing all ornamentation, until the final page when it is all concealed. Flipping the book over reveals the illustration on a larger scale in color.
